Biodiesel from animal fats

Technical fat for the production of biofuel is produced from technical animal fat and / or technical vegetable oils, followed by mechanical and chemical cleaning of unwanted micro and macro elements, chemical adjustment of physico-chemical parameters and subsequent transesterification.


Depending on the quality, technical fat is produced in 1, 2, 3, 4 types

Technical fat must comply with the requirements of GOST 1045, these specifications and be manufactured according to the technological instructions in compliance with production requirements and special technological processes.

According to physico-chemical indicators, technical fat must meet the requirements given in table 1.

Requirements for raw materials

In the manufacture of technical fat, the following raw materials are used:

  • distilled water according to GOST 6709
  • technical animal fat in accordance with GOST 1045
  • isopropyl alcohol according to GOST 9805
  • technical caustic soda according to GOST R 5506
  • acetic acid according to GOST R 55982

It is allowed to use similar types of raw materials of domestic and foreign production, allowed for use in the established manner.

Marking of technical fat is carried out in accordance with the requirements of GOST 1045 (section 4).

Transport marking must comply with the requirements of GOST 14192 with the addition of the following data:

  • names and grades of fat
  • production dates
  • designations of these specifications

Packaging of technical fat is carried out in accordance with the requirements of GOST 1045 (section 4).

Technical animal fat is packaged and transported in containers of polymer materials with a capacity of 1.0 m3, in steel barrels according to GOST 6247 or in railway tanks and tankers for food products according to GOST 9218.

Transportation and storage

Transportation and storage of technical fat is carried out in accordance with the requirements of GOST 1045 (section 4).

Technical fat is transported by all means of transport in accordance with the transport rules applicable to this type of transport.
